One of the often overlooked purposes for warming up is improving your feel for the day.  It is important to loosen up so that you can swing effectively. It may also be a good idea to hit some solid shots to boost your confidence, especially if you haven’t played for a while.

Flexibility is one of the keys of good golf, without it we are fighting ourselves to improve.  A typical problem, for example, is tight shoulders and torsos that restrict the ability to turn with our backswings.  Another problem is tight legs which can cause back problems. Tightness anywhere leads to compensation by the other muscles, and compensation leads to un-natural wear and tear on our body. Tight legs can also cause us to struggle with our posture, and a poor setup makes consistent golf nearly impossible.

Whole body vibration is a great way to warm up for your next golf game.  It has been shown to increase flexibility, power, and golf performance.  A case study was done to help determine the effectiveness of using Whole Body Vibration as a warm up for golf.  Ten adult men volunteered to perform their personal warm-up and record 7 of their golf swings.  They participated in an active warm-up involving flexibility exercises on a WBV platform and then recorded 7 golf swings.  Eight different exercises were performed for 30 seconds each.  Significant changes were measured after the WBV warm-up in the following areas: sit and reach, ball speed, carry distance, and total distance.

The balance of strength and flexibility is a great combination for golf and for everyday activities.  If you want fast results, consider Whole Body Vibration.   Your golf score will benefit too!
